Download Day is here!
Set a Guinness World Record
Enjoy a Better Web

Sounds like a good deal, right? All you have to do to help us set the record for the most software downloaded in 24 hours is get Firefox 3 now – it’s that easy. We're not asking you to swallow a sword or to balance 30 spoons on your face, although that would be kind of awesome.

Please download Firefox 3 by 11:16 a.m. PDT (18:16 UTC) on June 18, 2008. That's 11:16 a.m. in Mountain View, 2:16 p.m. in Toronto, 3:16 p.m. in Rio de Janeiro, 8:16 p.m. in Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Rome and Warsaw, 10:16 p.m. in Moscow, and June 19, 2008 at 2:16 a.m. in Beijing and 3:16 a.m. in Tokyo.

What no GMT (BST)?

Re: Firefox 3

I've been running teh Beta for ages, as I said though I prefer Opera for everyday stuff, FF has a couple of uses for me but not much.

You can also easily skew teh figures,
I have 3 Pcs at work, 4 at home, old dears next door's I can remote access.

so 1 person can register 8 hits quite easily

Not hits entwisi but downloads and yes someone could skew the results.

But as each download goes to a different computer it isn’t really skewing things, is it?

No doubt that there will be some who will download FF3 several times to their own computer but I think that they may be wasting their time. They’ll get the download OK but it won’t be registered as a ‘new’ download.

I will install FF3 but as I don’t have any problems with IE 6 point something it will hardly get used. Maybe once in a while out of curiosity or if for some reason I can’t get to a web site of my choice I try FF or Opera. So far it has been a case of if IE can’t get me there then neither has FF or Opera been able to.
