Free Telephone Numbers

I was reading the 'HD TV, should you or shouldn't you' posting, when I thought this website might help some people -
http://www.saynoto0870.com

It allows you to search for free phone or cheaper geograhic telephone numbers when you need to ring Sky etc. I know that you can be on hold to some companies for ages, and with a 0870 or 0845 number it can cost a lot of money. Also, as lots of people pay for their telephone calls as part of their rental package anyway, it means you can call most companies for free.

Re: Free Telephone Numbers

Thanks for that, they are a pain, I always end up with a pile of junk or get over charged and have to spend hours on the phone to these companies.
lx dirrect are one of the main ones, when it took three months to get my washer dryer recently, and cpc is still on going over this second pc that I thought it woyld be a good idea to get. so far I've had 5 pc's in six months, one went for repair with my hard drive in it and they lost it and are still charging me. So you can see I've spend a lot of time arguing and talking to myself at my expense.

if you are being given the run around then write to them, give them 14 days to completely solve the problem and include an invoice for all phone calls to this point (copy your itemised phone bills highlighting the calls to them.) Threaten them with small claims court if they fail to comply.

Re: Free Telephone Numbers

well, they charged me for returning my pc and my hard drive, which they are still cahrging me for, also a restocking fee, which they refunded but did it as compensation. I'm just going to pay what I owe, which I was told to do, and then wait for accounts to get upset and sort it that way, then I'll write explaining why, and that as far as i'm concerned the compensation is exactly what it says it is, £105 compensation. I'm waiting to get my pc working again first, then I'm going to send this off to be reapaired, as it seems a safer bet of getting a working pc than them sending another which will also be broken. They're supposed to be new factory refurbished but the faults that they've been returned with aren't fixed. I'd just buy a new one but as it's a second pc I didn't want to spend the money, it would cost over a grand for this from del. I just want a working pc, ffs, why is that so hard in this country, and why do I have to pay to phone to say It doesn't work. They don't take the **** one way they take it multiple ways.

I think that is very good advice, but make sure you send the letter by recorded delivery, then they can't deny ever having recieved the letter. If all else fails, get the home addresss of the MD (from companies house website) and send a letter to them.
I had an accident in my car last August ( an articulated lorry ran in the back of me, when I was stopped at traffic lights). My insurance company were as much use as a chocolate fireguard (despite having comprehensive insurance and the other drivers insurance company admitting liablity). My car was an MG ZS, and although it was only 15 months old, they couldn't get some of the new parts needed.I wrote numerous letters and eventually in February I sent a letter to the home of the MD. He got everything settled within a week. Often the top people in companies have no idea just how bad their customer service departments are, and then wonder why they loose customers.

Is it only me that finds some of your posts REALLY difficult to read and make sense of?

TBH I gave up reading halfway through the above.
