Is Sky satellite the best in the world?

In my opinion there are only 2 things about Sky that make it one of the best TV services in the world, if not the best.

Would anyone like to have a guess what they are. I am comparing Sky to other TV services like FreeView, cable and foreign satellite services, all of which I can and do receive.

I wouldn't say 'best', but I like the way the tv can be programmed to switch itself to the programmes you have scheduled for viewing. I browse my channel favourites once every day - set what I want to view - and it does the rest

EPG is one of them.

There are only 2 faults with it. The program reminders are lost after a box power down, well they are on my old box, new ones may remember them. The other 'fault' is when you right arrow up the time on a channel you can't press the i and get the program info. You can with cable but I think the Sky EPG is better over all.

By the way you don't get the full EPG if you use a Dreambox. Only now and next.

Tecnical superiority is useless if there is nothing on it worth watching

I don't think it is technically superior, I get a better picture on my cable box and my non sky satellite receiver beats the sky box hands down for features. I can carry a laptop around the house while still watching my satellite programs in a window on the screen while I am surfing if I want. A sky box can't do that.
