Laptop Help
Tinks has got a new laptop for xmas, she has put the battery pack on right, its even fully charged & she is getting nothing on the screen whatsoever, she's done the <fn+f5> & is still getting nowt?? It an Acer make.
Any sensible ideas please as to what to do or is it a duffer needing to go back to shop? as u can appreciate she's not a happy bunny

I've a Fujitsu laptop that I got back in August, I had to run that with the battery insitu and the thing plugged in to the mains...

Yes she has pressed the on button & it seems to load up something well the fan but the screen is blank as if it wasn't on & there is no standby button as far as i can see

She has tried running the mains as well as battery too & blank screen.

It was a bit of a disappointment that it doesn't work. I've had a man who knows  take a look and confirmed it is buggered. It will just have to go back, I'll get a working one eventually ....... it could only happen to me!!!

You tried Fn and the rght arrow key to see if the backlight is turned right down?
