PC to telephone.

Iset up my computer to make telephone calls while I am at it using BT Communicator. Does anyone else do this apart from using Skype which I also have and use? If so is there anything to watch out for?

Re: PC to telephone.

BT Communicator comes with Yahoo messenger, I think ….. or am I on the wrong thing here?

I don’t have Yahoo messenger but a work colleague has told me that he has just uninstalled his messenger because he couldn’t find a way to stop unwanted callers (strangers). With Skype you can block unwanted callers and just have the people on your contacts list call you.

I would have thought thou that this option would also be available on Yahoo messenger BT.

Re: PC to telephone.

The larest version of yahoo messenger only lets you have voice chats via the communicator, you can't use the old voice chat part anymore. been told it sounds tinny. also since i upgraded, everytime i click on change pic or status buttons yahoo messenger just closes on me, tried reinstakking, deleting and reinstalling, and reinstalling the old one but it's still the same

Re: PC to telephone.

Phoned my sister through the computer and it does sound "wierd" its clear enough though the nearest I can come is trying to use a phone in the public loos. Will keep it for a while and see what happens. Thought I would try it and stick it on my landline bill as to avoid the agro of setting up with skype though I kept that as well.
