web mail programs.

Any recommendations on any of these three web mail programs.
I need to choose one for my e-mails because I have my own domain and
I haven’t got a clue which is best?

NeoMail. Horde. SquirrelMail.

Just try them out one at a time and see which one you prefer. You don't have to always use webmail though, you can make your outlook or whatever mail program you use connect to your mailserver and download to your computer.

As Roy said, most hosting companies provide POP3 and SMTP support so you should be able to just set the accounts up in your normal email client.

I understand what they are now, I just wasn’t sure.
I think for the time being I shall stay with my Outlook Express for my e-mails. I have set up the POP3 and SMPT in outlook for my new e-mail address and it works, cus I’ve tried it.

There is also an option in my cp were as I can automatically make first time mailers verify their e-mail address, before I actually receive it. This is good I think because it stops automated spammers

This is good but just remember that whilst this is set up you will struggle to sign up for many services on the internet. I get so many people signing up for my services with an email address that asks me to confirm myself first.... I don't, or I'd be confirming myself all day long!

Thanks for the advice Roy. I think I shall reconsider.

I see what you mean. Internet services often send you e-mails such as, conformation or registration etc and I’m sure they won’t verify their e-mail address either, you either get the e-mail they send you or you don’t. hehe

Also I don’t really want to loose any info that someone may have due to the fact that the sender isn’t really bothered if I receive their info or not. The verification method may ultimately persuade them not to send at all in the end.

I shall turn it off and see how I get on with the spammers. If it should get bad then maybe I will turn it on again and only disable the option while registering to internet services etc but that would be a pain.hehe

Have a look around in your control panel for something called spamassasin, then have a read about it on the net. Thats what I use to get shut of most of my spam.

I’ve had a good look round and I am unable to find spamassassin. The only thing I can find is the spam trap.

Sorry about that, spamassin was not installed on your server, it is now, under the Mail menu.

Have you checked out Bravenet as a possible webmail program?
