Re: Wireless Router

so, you have updated yours and his has stopped working?

Can I just check, the internet connection isn't run by your PC and shared to him via a wireless access point? i.e. when you say wireless router you mean a proper wif router that does all teh internet connection and wireless networking itself?

Did you try an IP address in his browser?(Neils IP isn't google BTW )

Re: Wireless Router

The interesting thing about google is that the ip can be different depending on where you ping it from. They have a big lump of ip's so it depends which google server your DNS server gives you the ip of when you try to connect. Googlemail gives you the same varying results

Re: Wireless Router

I don't know what the IP I posted above is - probably a typing mistake

If you are feeling bored today click start, run and type cmd then enter

At the command prompt type ipconfig /displaydns

look down the list for google.co.uk and see what ip addresses your PC has used for google as shown below

Re: Wireless Router

The router and wireless is connected to my computer so I access the internet direct, the laptop is wireless and worked fine until I renewed the AV.

I haven't tried anything yet, just waiting for him to get back of his hols tomorrow and will give it a go
