I kept having a very similar problem about 5 months ago. I also got interference on my phone line. I eventually got BT to come out and the wiring in my master socket box was perished, since then no problem. But if BT come out and there is not a fault on their equipment they will charge you.

cheers for that, i have had them out twice in the last two years for a crackle on my phone line, i havent got one at the moment though but i know what your saying
