Re: working offline
what makes you think your router was 'offline'
they tend to reboot and carry on as normal. Windows is rubbish at actually reporting the correct connection status. (Well, its rubbish at a lot of things but this is one of teh long list).

Re: working offline
If its a home hub.
All the lights flashing (all 5) is the hub doing a software update.

Re: working offline
Which phone socket is it plugged into in your house, as in is it in the master socket?
Do you have other phone sockets?
Do you connect your pc wireless or wired to the hub?

Re: working offline
does one of those lights say ADSL on it (or DSL) I can't remember on those. If so does it go out when the net goes off?
It is often a phone wiring fault that causes repeated disconnection.

Re: working offline
I would usually advise people to unscrew the bottom half of the master socket and plug the microfilter and router into the main socket under the front cover you remove with the 2 little screws. This disconnects and bad wiring you might have causing a fault. It is a little awkward when you have to move your PC to your master socket though. I would try it for a few hours and see if it is ok. You should have an idea if it would have disconnected in that time seeing as it is so frequent.
I would not plug in a phone while you are testing it either in case the phone is causing a fault. Don't worry no one ever phones you anyway
