a gay footballer...

with increasing speculation that a certain currently mentally unstable player is about to outed as gay is football ready for a mainstream footballer?

with all the sarongs and the make ups etc waxing and general "modern man" in today's top footballers will this be an easier time than say when justin fashanu came out?

How can someone's choice of partner affect the way they play football?

shock?! horror! a GAY footballer?!?!! whatever next?!

get over it man theres loads of gay blokes playing in the Premiership & Football league....you didn't think the '3rd division footballer haircut' was a fashion statement did you?

if/when this player comes out as gay the tabloids will 'ave it for the sunday headlines and in an hour it will be old news...if he wants to err 'play that way' then fine it shouldnt affect his football.
remember beckham's 'Sarong-gate' scandal?
still think he's hiding something...

Why not? Are you expecting him to run around the pitch touching up all the other players. Your profile says you are 60, your comments suggest you are still at school.

Well the news of the world could set up a sting operation, dressed as sheiks, offer him the managers job at Aston Villa and get him to say a couple of things everyone knows as fact, then they can out him and the whole country can be up in arms that......
1. He said someone moved for money
2. He knew someone would come with him
3. He knew Rooney was a dickhead

Sounds familier, thanks for buying the NOTW, it makes sport better and really speaks for the people.

If the player in question does prove to be gay, it will be a two minute wonder......the papers will talk about it and then everyone, including the player can get on with their lives. Personally I can't see what this guys sexual orientation has to do with his ability to play football. Whatever his problems are he is, at present suffering some emotional turmoil.....cut the chap some slack to deal with it.....his bosses have!
