Alan Green 5live
Listening to the England match on 5live. England (currently) winning 4-0 against Moldova, not playing all that well, but playing 'nowt', no chance of Moldova scoring and the game has gone flat. Alan Green the commentator at a loss for something to say about the actual match, takes offence at three or four England fans who are taking photos of themselves, because they have their back to the game. He questions whether or not they are 'real' fans, then he says, 'I wonder if they are here for the spectacle and not the match'
I got news for him...
a) Not everyone is in such a priveleged position as he is, who gets free travel, tickets, guaranteed best views and expenses to England matches all over the world!
b) People travel long distances and pay good money to watch games, and if they want to take a minute or two to make a memorabilia for themselves, who the hell is he to question their dedication or reason?
c) From a photographic point of view, do you take a photo of yourself with a plastic wall in the background, or a photo of the pitch/players in the background?
d) If I was going to a spectacle, it sure as hell wouldn't be a game against Moldova...Germany, Brazil, Italy..yeah..But Moldova???
The man has totally lost the plot! He used to be a decent commentator, but now he believes his own hype, thinks he's the only person who loves football and is past his sell by date
