Cup Final Tickets

I read today that Chelski and United have each been allocated 25,000 tickets for the FA Cup Final at the new Wembley Stadium. Given that the capacity is advertised as being 90,000, who are the other 40,000 spectators? I suspect the caterers will make a killing on prawn sandwiches.

The county FA's get allocated a large share of the 40,000. They allocate these tickets to the clubs and referees societies within their organisation. This allows all football fans to attend a showpiece final instead of the same ones year in year out.

Wembley doesn't need prawn sandwiches to make a killing, they can do that with the humble hot dog at £4.50 a time

Re: Cup Final Tickets

Just found this on the BBC site:

The Football Association has explained its allocation of FA Cup final tickets.
Finalists Chelsea and Manchester United have each been given 25,000 tickets, with a further 17,000 seats taken by Club Wembley members on 10-year leases.

The remaining 23,000 tickets will go to other clubs alongside grass roots and other football organisations.

That's 17,000 prawn sandwiches.
