Dilema!

Just been reading an artical about Rooney which asked the question .........
If you bring up a young player through your system and he turns out to be a goal scoring machine or defensive general or even a midfield mystro, what do you do as a club?
Keep him and he helps you stay up
Sell him and buy new players to help you stay up
We are not talking about the Utds and Liverpools more the Evertons and Blackburns and also how would the fans react to your decsion? one more thing who do you sell him to? Utd to make them stronger or your cross town club or should he go aboard where he wont do you any damage.
We all have an opinion as fans so what would you do?

Re: Dilema!

You would like to think so but alas it doesnt work like that also think about how the player would feel if a team came in for him like say Real Madrid and the club said no.

Re: Dilema!

I would keep him, otherwise your team would fall apart and go down and stuff.

Re: Dilema!

The player most definitely has a say whether or not he moves. If for example Everton want to sell Wayne Rooney, if he doesn't want to move to a particular club, or any other club for that matter, he can just sit tight and let his contract run down and expire.
If a club doesn't want to sell a player, but the player wants to leave, the player can simply refuse to play. I'm not saying it is the right thing to do morally, but players have engineered moves like this previously; for example Pierre van Hoojidonk from Celtic to Notts Forest and then away from Forest by withdrawl of his labour, effectively going on strike. Ronaldinho behaved in a similar manner when he moved from Paris St Germain to Barcelona
