England's worst World Cup campaign?
I dissapointed with England's heart and desire, that surely has to come to question. This time they have no excuses for their shambles against Uruguay. No player was good for us that game, very disapointed.
However the other problem is that the Premier League has way too many foreign players. If we don't have a majority British born side soon and drastic changes WILL need to be made. If these changes do not happen soon we will end up not qualifying for the Euro's and future World Cup's. We will end up like San Marino.
CHANGE IS NEEDED!

I feel sorry for the fans as well, paying their hard earned savings to proudly watch their country. The England team should be ashamed of themselves.

Not just the premier league young Tom, but throughout English football. Ideally a limit on foreign players would be the best way to improve English standards if clubs concentrated on our own home grown youth talent, but that costs money, so to raise that money foreign big names are enticed & overpaid to raise the appeal of English footy ..... Why feel sorry for them. They know we are crap and still shell out.

No matter how bad the football gets there's no need to threaten folk with having to watch cricket

Re: England's worst World Cup campaign?
and really if you think about it we are not as bad as spain ... they've let in 8 goals and they were the world cup holders .. until they went out the day before us ... so we've only let in 4 goals and we lasted a day longer than the Spanish ....

And the pork chops, who let in 4 against the nazis ... and those same supposedly world-beating krauts stumbling to an undeserved draw, outplayed by Ghana ... and Argentina lucky to beat Iran ... and Italy losing ... It's a weird World Cup. And the favorites now? Costa Rica, maybe. Altho' the Frogs are looking good. Seem to remember they had trouble qualifying.
And, come to think of it, England didn't play all that badly. Not great, but given a couple of breaks and lucky bounces, and with a couple less defensive blonde moments, they could have had six points.
But, what do I know ... I'm just a Canadian, eh ... and we still dominate our national sport

Re: England's worst World Cup campaign?
Still think the Cloggies, could do well. And if they did, it'd sure upset their neighbours to the right as they'd be quite happy to constantly remind them when visiting Cloggyland.

Re: England's worst World Cup campaign?
Worst world cup since 1958? Who can remember that far back? I can't and I was there. I think this world cup has had a lot of positives, some great individual efforts and some great team efforts from teams who weren't rated. The worst part for me, other than the door handles making the half and full time comments, are without a doubt the refs, I swear some of them have just walked in off the street. No idea what a foul is, no clue when they are being conned and no guts to call penalties on obvious fouls, but then I always hated refs so I think I'm probably biased. As for England, the main problem was Cahill, not good enough.
