There again, I wouldn't have bet a wooden nickle on Chelsea to win the Champions League

Ya you've got a point there Eric couldn't see them at any time in the competition as the eventual winners, United had by far the best chance of winning, yet they blew it, maybe that's why books never go broke

Re: Euro 2012
Germany and Portugal have played the best games so far, but back in 2004 Greece came out of nowhere and won it so who knows?

Re: Euro 2012
In football, as in hockey, possession, dominating control of the ball (or the puck ), shots on goal etc. doesn't count at the end of the game. What does count is how many shots actually end up in the net. I remember that first Chelsea game against Barca. In the first half, Barca outshot Chealsea several billion to one, and dominated the play. Yet they went into the dressing room one goal down. So much for shots on goal and having possession for 95% of the half.

Re: Euro 2012
So, Portugiesies are the first semi finalists, reckon they'll be up against Spain again myself. That said I also thought the Cloggies were on to win the event at the start.
(one reason I don't bet )

Re: Euro 2012
Germany V Greece tonight - morally and politically Greece should win because that wlll be sticking it to the Germans who are controlling them financially in the EU. Football wise it should be the Germans.

The Czech's were having a go in the first half but in 2nd half most times they got the ball in their goal area they gave it straight back to the Portugese, that was annoying.

Ya they were having a go but never looked like scoring think they only had 3 shots all game, think they were trying to play for penalties, think that's the only chance they had of winning
