FC United to visit the Interlink

The new North West Counties club - FC United of Manchester will be paying their first visit to the Interlink on Sunday 13th November, when they take on Colne FC - 2pm kick off. This League Challenge cup 2nd round tie has been moved to the Interlink Express Stadium, because the Police did not think Clones home ground was big enough to stage the game - it only hold's 2,000 compared to Accrington Stanley's 5,000.

Access will be by pay on the gate £6 adults and £3 concessions.

FC may be visting the Interlink again the following week to take on Darwen FC - this all depends on whether Darwen beat Harrogate Railway on Saturday in the FA vase. If they do, their home game against FC United will be moved to the Interlink, as the Police will not let Darwen stage the game at their Anchor ground at night. However if Darwen lose in the Vase, they will play FC United as planned at the Anchor Ground on Saturday 19th November, with a 3pm kick-off.

What date did you post it? I've not seen it sorry!!!!!!!!.

In fact Colne FC only made the switch on Monday, after talks with the local Police and the safety officier from Burnley FC.

I posted 23 oct 14.00.
I heard about it on saturday at the FCUoM game against Nelson.Its surprising you hear things off the supporters before anything is made official.If you want to see it its in the football forum not the Acc Stanley one.

OK I see now, I only normally read/post on the Accy Stanley Forum. However I've just checked the other out - not bad!

I must admit a few of us were surprised at Colne FC having to swap to the Interlink. Out of all the East Lancs NWC sides, they have by far the best ground, so if they can't stage a home game against FC United - its very doutful that Nelson or Padiham will be able to either - as well as Darwen - which is still all up in the air according to their web master who I spoke with this morning.

What it means is that Accrington will gain from all this - not just Stanley, as 2-3,000 FC United fans will be spending their cash in the pubs and shops around the ground/town each time they come here.

Normally I'd say no to so many Mancs visiting Accrington, I believe you still sing songs about Merseyside, but I happen to agree with what you're doing and will be there to give my support for at least one of the games.

Got to addmit it surprised me to especially with Turf Moor being so close to Colne.The last game of season is Padiham away,with attendances growing and FCUoM having a good chance of promotion I think it would probably be in Padihams financial intrest to ask Burnley if they can use the Turf.I believe the Clarets are away for the last game of season to.

Dosnt matter if Turf Moor Ewood or anywere else is free Stanley got the nod and good luck to them its a nice bit of publicity for them.

Dont get me wrong I totally agree,and I hope more games are played there.Its good finance for Stanley and its almost on my doorstep.For me its like away games at home

I wasnt taking a swipe I could see the benifits financially to Stanley as well. It shows that the club does not have to be amongst the big boys to make money from cup ties. Long may this trend continue.

Even with 2000 fans could you imagine how quite turf moor would be, better noise effect and closer together a better atmosphere so some where like Stanley is a better bet and probably cheaper.

yes I take your point bazf,but attendences are growing,over 3000 now and at one recent match 3800.All im saying is if things keep going like this,the last game of the season away to Padiham could be safer held at Turf Moor.If the success as been achieved by then,the crowds grow even more.We are playing at Gigg lane now for the time being.They just open 3 sides of ground cuts down on stewarding,they could do a similar thing at the Turf,and it doesnt sound empty.The 4th side is just covered in flags and banners.Im not knocking the ground at Stanley,I know it holds at least 5000,but in 12 games we have practically doubled our following,so come the end of season and if any success happens well your guess is as good as mine what the attendences could be.

Whilst the majority of us will be cheering Stanley on from the comfort of our armchairs, or bar stools, this Saturday, don't forget that Colne FC will undoubtedly require some vocal support on Sunday!...........and it's only 6 quid in............ee takes me back!

I'll second that, I'll be there supporting the East Lancs side. It should be the largest crowd at the Interlink this season - around 3,000 I guess.:engsmil:
