FCUM at the interlink

Looking forward to January 28th 2006 when FCUM visit the interlink to play Gt Harwood in their NW Counties Div 2 match. It should be a packed house hopefully, the last away fixture at Leek we took 2,400 fans and we all enjoyed the game and atmosphere. The average home attendence last season for Leek last season was 150 so it give them extra money on the gate aswell as local pubs etc gaining through extra takings.Hopefully the game at the interlink also benefits Acc Stanley through gate receipts & bar takings. There is a league cup round 3 game set for that date so if FCUM are successfull in that competition it may get postponed till a later date.It will seem strange though being at the interlink and being classed as an away fan.Should be a good day though all in all.

Re: FCUM at the interlink

I was at flixton and it was pouring rain. they stood in the open end and sang.. the following game attracted over 2.5 thousand fans...

Theres a classic quote from a FCUM fan who was being interviewed on sky tv... he was asked the old boring question of what will you do on a cold tuesday night in the pouring rain and no cover.. ..

"Buy a big coat" was his instant reply that shut the sky bloke up..and that just about says it all

Thousands of fans all over the country stand in the rain watching there teams.. what makes you think they cant? they seem to be looking forward to it and the more people who say they wont it makes them more determined

Yes lets wait and see.. you think it will all fizzle out.. I dont.. but only time will tell

I hope it doesnt because its already given a big shot in the arm to the teams they have played... lots are changing venues for there games with them and there all rubbing there hands... I spoke to the great Harwood chairman and if only 500 turn up it will be a massive boost to the club..

I say get off there backs.. they have done remarkable in a short time and there a massive boost to the northern non league scene.. long may they continue to do so.

Whos getting on there backs all I questioned was after a month you can't say its a done and dusted deal and they will bring 2500 to every game.

As for a classic quote that was also said by a Wimbledon fan after they started there new team

It was pouring with rain for the first game of the season,it didnt dampen the spirits of the faithful 2,400 aint bad for an away game support and last night we got the same sort of support even though the gnome lovers were playing in the champions league on chanel 5.Not a bad record so far neither played 3 won 3, 15 goals for 5 against now thats entertainment as a certain Jam song goes.
