Football Banning Orders

Somebody posted this on the Clarets board but I thought it might be of interest on here. Probably a generalisation but the higher the arrests the more problems you will have going to away grounds or from visiting clubs.

The first thing I noticed is that Man Utd & Leeds fans obviously think they need to be drunk to watch their teams

I'm not looking forward to my stopover in Grimsby now!! Only three clubs with 0 banning orders this season or last, Stanley, Torquay and Wycombe. That may have changed since those figures were released but well done Stanley fans.

The last time I went to Grimbsy was a cup match in 1974. It came very low down on my list of enjoyable away day experiences. Thankfully football hooliganism has died down a lot since those days.

Sorry Dave I found thatbit quite funny.The beer doesn't always cue the trouble,as its a well known fact F.C.United's fans enoy a tipple or two(understatement

)before and after games.The only trouble we get is with other teams 'Firms' turning up to games that thier team isn't even playing.As an example,the other week we played Newcastle Town away and a coach full of Stoke's 'Naughty Forties' decided to turn up at half time

But I suppose its something we will have to get used to as we climb the pyramid.What I was shocked with was that Pompey have the highet bning orders in all 4 leagues

.For a small team the perentage must be high what with having 110 of them.Even Man.Utd's was les than that.

Sorry to say Dave it hasn't it just doesn't get the press it used to.It still goes on but is more secretive,all meetings being arranged ove mobile phones and internet so not alot of people find out what is going on.

Having encountered FCUoM's fans on trains and in pubs around Manchester, I'll second that! Always very good natured though, and with very positive attitudes towards Stanley (I've lost count of the number of 'em who've come up and shook my hand when they've seen my shirt). And, unlike many other fans (and Mr Wise), they seem to like our ground (and the Crown pub!).

As you say it still goes on but it is 'organised'. By being organised in this way it means the pillocks who want to get involved in it usually only involve themselves and not the general public as it was in the really bad days. I feel a damn sight more comfortable taking my daughter to away games than I used to when I was younger. There are still some grounds I would avoid though. Portsmouth is no suprise to me, I would also avoid Leeds,Cardiff and Millwall.

Yeah,it was like a second home last season for us,3 matches played there,but we was there 4 times because of the postponment of the Gt.Harwood game.

Yeah I agree with the areas you listed Dave,but I'd put the Brittannia Stadium and Vale Park in there too.

Have to say the FES is good for us because we get to mix with the home fans, even if it is only a pre-season friendly.
