Italian Football Suspended.

all italian football has been suspended indefinately by their FA tonight including next weeks international friendly, due to a riot in sicaly tonight when a policeman was killed by rioting fans. is this the correct way to deal with this? i personally have my doubts. it was a local derby between Calgari and Palermo in seria A.

Of course not.

First of all they should have put a horse's head on his pillow, then afterwards added his body to the concrete foundations of the new extension at the football stadium.

yes... I repect the desicion by the Italian FA.. this sort of thing has to be sorted.. when the Leeds lads got killed in Istanbul .. fifa or was it euafa did nothing and said it was not football related.. when people are killed.. murdered.. football should always take a back seat.. it won't kill us to miss a few games will it

Yes,if it was brits involved they (uefa, whatever),would'nt think twice. It's about time the powers that be showed some mettle & distributd the blame fairly.Heysel has stuck in the minds of some of these governing bodies for far too long,we've all seen the turks & italians mentality at games its surprised me its taken the death of someone to get this far.Corruption on a grand scale in the Italian league, whoe's going to get wasted for this decision, theres millions of Mafiosa money at stake.Does that make sense

Re: Italian Football Suspended.

why i say i have my doubts is that it was a policeman that was killed. my doubt is would the same apply if it was a fan? it makes a hell of a differance in many countries if you murder a policeman.

Re: Italian Football Suspended.

lets be honest.. we have moaned and groaned about the europeans not taking action when their fans have gone over the top..English fans have been banned and restricted from some games ..mostly without good cause, it maybe that it takes a policeman to be killed before action .. real cutting action is needed to put a stop to the football related violence taking place in Italy,Turkey and the eastern european gangs.. (they have the same attitude the English had years ago) this all started as a day out for the lads here in the 70's.. but its got out of control.

Wonder how UEFA are going to blame the brits for this one? the flare was made in Birmingham, or the person who threw it had an English great grandad.

Re: Italian Football Suspended.

come on .. its got to end..and if the Italians go all the way with this then they have to be backed up.. we all know the stuff that has been going on for years without fifa,uefa.. doing nothing.. maybe we (english) have been targeted by europe as being the worst.. but we have known for a long time now that we arn't... it's common knowledge that the worst stuff goes on in europe.. and I'll say again.. the stuff we (england) did on saturdays.. or away in europe.. was not about killing people and was never meant to be.. when people are killed for football its not worth it

it will never end it will just calm down but there will always be a spark there. its still around in the uk but Police are all on top of it, if you get caught even fighting a local on a match day you can get like a 4 year ban! in italy they could hand out bans, but for italy hosting the euro cup in 2012, i highly doubt that as there will plenty of foreign mobs about with most likely plenty of deaths,
