League Football

Stanley and Oxford replaced one another in the football league 44 years apart. Oxford got their first taste of league football when they took Stanley's place in 1962. In the next 44 years they went from the First division back to the Conference when Stanley replaced them in League 2 in 2006. I wonder if this has happened to any other clubs.

Re: League Football

It seems funny seing Stanley playing against Blackpool. I can remember on pub outings early sixties, always going to Blackpool to watch them play against ManU. Where Dennis Law, Bobby Charlton, Georgy Best, were all playing for ManU.

Cheers
