Please take a moment to reflect

Hi

I am a Liverpool supporter and am seeking the help of all football fans by signing a petition http://www.petitiononline.com/rawk1/petition.html, to get the BBC to drop Kelvin MacKenzie from hosting a radio programme on Christmas Day.

For those of you not familiar with Mr MacKenzie, he was the editor of The Sun newspaper at the time of the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, which ran a story blaming supporters for causing the disaster.

He claimed we were drunk and forced a gate open, urinated on police, robbed the dead and even sexually assulted women fans.

Last week he repeated those claims which has brought further heartache to survivors like myself, and more important, to the families of the 96 men, women and children who died.

The reason we are appealing to supporters of all clubs is that if you went to football in the 80's you will know that Hillsborough was a disaster waiting to happen and but for the grace of god...........

MacKenzie would have laid into any fans like he has Liverpool fans as he has no morals and will do anything just to sell newspapers.

To help please sign our online petition, http://www.petitiononline.com/rawk1/petition.html which we are hoping to have 10,000 names on to present to the BBC. Last night we prevented him from apprearing on Question time, so we know every name can make a difference.

I appreciate that many of you may not be aware of the events surrounding Hillsborough, or may be mis-informed about what actually happened.

Information can be found here, http://www.contrast.org/hillsborough some of you may find it quite disturbing.

Thanks you for your time, you can follow progress of the petition here http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=155686.0 as well as ask any questions

Kind regards

Reading some of the comments, it is apparent that all football fans have a common loathing for MacKenzie. The words, "Honesty" & "Integrity" are not part of his vocabulary.

Re: Please take a moment to reflect

This thread is not just about the petition, great work though that is. A petition alone will not do it, raise awareness with MPs, complain to the BBC – and keep complaining even after you get one of the multitude of different standard responses.

Listen, this fight cannot be allowed to falter, when we get past Christmas and 5Live air the show, which they look like they will, then it’s time for a renewed effort. Beyond that – every engagement we can find out about where he is booked we give the same treatment as we have this.

Fight on, never forget, never forgive be relentless. All it takes is 15 minutes of your day to write a mail make a phone call.

Just to save you from searching here’s the main links:

Your MP: http://www.theyworkforyou.com/

Dont forget the Beeb also: http://www.bbc.co.uk/complaints/

And/or call the BBC to complain - 08700 100 222 open 24 - 7

Or alternatively you can write to or contact Points of View by emailing [email protected] or telephone: 0870 908 3199.

The petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/rawk1/petition.html Petition is now over 10,000

Article on 606 http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A18175133 comment and rate please

If you need more info on Hillsborough please cut and paste this link

And the latest avenue of attack: “This is the place where you can come to grumble about us, help us cover stories from right across the UK”, [email protected] .

Re: Please take a moment to reflect

beyond belief ! Mackensie turns up on question time tonight, he must have been sneaked in the back door as he was not a scheduled panelist, makes me think the BBC did not want to arouse any protests by not advertising his presence.
He had the cheek to say it was a small group of Liverpool fans that he had a problem with, well I'm definitely not a LFC fan but I've got a problem with him!

For the first time in my life I have made a compliant to the BBC.
