road to the World Cup 2010
England 2 Ukraine 1... thats five out of five in the qualifiers...should be enough and 2 more wins will get us to the World cup in South Africa... not really on fire tonight against Ukraine...Rooney has to be fit next year!

Rooney was great, but still a liability, with his temperament could well be sent off when it really matters, n those that say he's passionate- nonsense he's a thug.

Re: road to the World Cup 2010
Rooney is almost the key..not from last night but every game he plays....I maybe a Man Utd fan but I honestly can say that Rooney is becoming the be all and end all. .. the man is not a thug Cashy but he is likely to see red in his head and in the ref's book.. if he can be calmed down for the finals then he is possibly the best player England have had since the days of Bobby Charlton... from my point of view he is better than Ronaldo.

That's his only trouble Mancie, the Red Mist, its something that's inbuilt and can flair up at anytime, there are lots of players with the same problem, and no amount of therapy will cure it, just hope he can keep it in check when it really maters

i can't think of any player that earns the vast amount of money they earn these days.. but Rooney works harder than any.. he always runs and is eager for the ball.... now that deserves admiration in these days of millions per year for football players... I'd reckon our chances of getting near the semi finals could depend on Rooney.. and that is a lot to to say ...we can't depend on a single player.. but I reckon it's on if Rooney is fighting fit.

I have to agree there Mancie, he's England's best player every match, his work rate is tremendous, if only it could become infectious and all the others would catch on, we live and hope

totally disagree..not worth the risk?..England have done nowt in recent years..it's been a risk even showing up for international competitions over the last 40yrs because we end up on our backsides...are you saying Rooney should not be in the team Cashy?... I don't think I'm going over the top if I say we could have got to the final of the Euro Championships last time if he had been fit.

i'm saying quite clearly if it was down to me he would be told to control himself or he would not be in it. his choice.

seen a lot of players get worked up..but Rooney is no worse than Keegan or Beckham... and the worse was Shearer.. but these types are needed if we want to win stuff..no way would I exclude Rooney from the team.

i would not exclude him if he could control himself, no way agree that Keegan,Beckham,Shearer, were as bad, as far as i'm concerned rooney intends to injure when his rag goes.
