Re: the england squad for world cup...

Some good news:

Micheal Owen Takes part in full training

He should be fit and if worse comes to worst and Rooney doesn't make it i think Carrick should play..

Robinson

Neville
Rio
Terry
Cole

Carrick

Beckham
Gerrard
Lampard
J. Cole

Owen

With Gerrard and Lampard bombing on trying the ever so familiar long range efforts with the ever so familiar results....:engsmil:

Re: the england squad for world cup...

We can all comment on svens squad but at the end of the day anything can happen. My parents are sicilian. I follow italy and england. i was lucky enough to see italy win the world cup in 82. I have to say that the brazilian team in 82 was probably the best team i have ever seen (apart from stanley.)Only weakness was the centre forward serginho and the goalie waldo perres i think. Italy played them and won against all the odds, with a team that had been slated by the italian press, especially after scraping through the 1st round. Paolo Rossi couldnt miss and this carried them forward to the cup. It only needs that flash of inspiration and anything can happen. As my father says "the ball is round". If Gerrard, lampard, terry, cole, beckham, owen play well then england will be hard to beat...

Taking that into account Zayno I would agree with your team selection apart from I would have Downing on the left & Cole playing in the hole where he generally plays his most effective game.
Oh and I'd put Carrick on the bench and put Walcott upfront with Owen...just to be cheeky.

Re: the england squad for world cup...

Looks like Rooney is on the ball already & is really trying to participate in world cup so the news says that he has been in training hard before his scan on June 7th
