Re: the england squad for world cup...

I am actually very happy with the amount of youngsters in there; we've been through so much mediocrity these past few years maybe the flair of Walcott, Lennon & Downing are just what we need this summer.
The only thing that has stumped me is why Darren Bent has been left out?! Also why Campbell has been included?! hmm...

Looking at the squad and lack of it he must be thinking a lot about fun with his women than doing his job and getting the English team to the final.

Re: the england squad for world cup...

Hargreaves is a nothing player..Never seen him perform for England! SUprised with Walcott's inclusion, that must be a real kick in the teeth for Defoe, how low on confidence must be be now being left out for a 17 year old who has never played in the Premiership forget against the world elite? I'm also puzzled to why King isn't in. Lennon deserves to be but i think SWP is one of those players who can change a game is a minute and should be going...

I did love the story of when Zven rang Reo coker up to tell him he was on the standby list and he actual wouldn't believe it was him and kept asking who it was that was taking the p***. when the phonecall ended he rang round all his friends trying to find out who was playing the joke

Re: the england squad for world cup...

crazy having rooney (should have learnt lesson with beckham last time) would love him there match fit but he WONT be. walcott WHO? lennon fair dos hes done the buisness, think sven who i like, don,t give a rats any more unless we meet sweden later. also shudder at the possibility of robinson getting injured, cos the reserve keepers should be in billy smarts circus. apart from that still think we have a decent chance.

Exclamation Re: the england squad for world cup...

how the hell svens ommitted players of the quality of darren bent, jermaine defoe and even andy johnson in favour of a young player (all be it, a very talented one) who's never actually played a single premiership game i'll never know. also what about kieran richardson, i'd put my life on him being more able to change a match than owen hargreaves. fingers crosssed for wayne rooney:engsmil:

Best of all, He now admits he has never seen him play excpet in a half pitch training game!

The guys done a sabotage on us.

Hargreaves has never done anything for England. Admittidly we don't see him play that often with him playing in Germany.

Re: the england squad for world cup...

i feel sorry and happy that swp isnt in - firstly i think he's a fantastic player and he really cud've done the job for us on the right. sad in that sense he isnt goin due to lack of action. happy that i guess he's got what he asked for - his cash. he shud've had the forsight to see that if a crespo or a robben doesnt get regular games for chelsea i dont know how he wud plus the fact they already had quality wingers. wudnt surprise me if he left chelsea this close season.

i do think its an error iwth the lack of strikers. plus the thing is takin rooney as amazing as he is - the whole squad is gonna b lumbered with the question hows wayne doing? what stage is he at?

cambell is a bit of a mistake too. once a mighty player if he wasnt injured and so out of form he wud've been good but its a huge risk

and who said sven was predictable? *L*

Re: the england squad for world cup...

just lookin at the other squads that have been submitted - most of the international teams have gone for at least 5/6 strikers!! and we're takin 3?! and a crippled genius?

brazil - Forwards: Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Robinho (Real Madrid), Ronaldinho (Barcelona), Adriano (Inter Milan), Fred (Olympique Lyon).

a front line to die for!!!

germany's front line looks suspect - there really isnt a german striker amongst the best so i think a few 1-0's from them

italy fwds:

Forwards: Luca Toni (Fiorentina), Alberto Gilardino (AC Milan), Filippo Inzaghi (AC Milan), Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus), Vincenzo Iaquinta (Udinese)

strong showin from italy though i think there's gonna b a huge distraction to them in the form of the scandal breakin there

france choose 5/6 strikers!!!! altho ribery i think is more of a winger i read as is wiltord.

Strikers: Djibril Cisse (Liverpool), Thierry Henry (Arsenal), Franck Ribery (Olympique Marseille), Louis Saha (Manchester United), David Trezeguet (Juventus), Sylvain Wiltord (Olympique Lyon).

the argies up front - cant wait to see tevez in action i highly rate him

Forwards: Carlos Tevez (Corinthians), Hernan Crespo (Chelsea), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Rodrigo Palacio (Boca Juniors), Javier Saviola (Sevilla), Julio Cruz (Inter Milan)

and finally here's an odd's checker for u betttin folk...

mite b a nice wager to get germany to the semi's for sure - most home nations do

IT IS GOING TO BE SORE ON THE KNEES!!!!

Looking at who is going and who the others are taking especially strikers (thanks mani) then we had better get on our knees and pray they get past the second round. There is more fire power in a in a mouses fart than we have for this important a set of matches. It would be easier to set fire to sodden paper than get excited at Englands chances. Has SGE had a drugs test lately because he is defenately in a different realm of reallity.
