The Duke of York on Dickson Rd is OK - home from home, a Thwaites House, reasonable smoking area. My only complaint about it is they didn't have Lancaster Bomber on in May this year.

Re: The invasion of blackpool
Lioved there '77 - '82 & 85 - '02, but I was working away and when home did most of my drinking in Cleveleys. During the season never went further into town than the Duke in the evenings, Washington or the one on Bonny St at lunchtimes.
As a teenager it was always the Fleece, Victoria, Mitre or the Grapes.
The latter was great when my lads were in the Army, it was a military pub - then it became an Irish bar.
Was actually in there when these two muppets came in with an IRA Collection Tin. There was a whip round to pay for the windows after they departed through them.

Hell Spigs the Foxhall is still going strong, was the first pub I ever went in when I was 14, me and my mate had a day out in Blackpool during the school holidays and made a B line for the nearest pub to Th coach park the Foxhall, never really had a problem getting served as I was 6' 2" tall when I was that age, my mate was 6' 4"
