James - 3 - defence did him no favours
Johnson - 1
Terry - 1
Upson - 0 but he scored so 2
Cole - 4 - at least he tried.
Gerrard - 1
Lampard - 4 - Englands man of the match. not that difficult
Milner - 2.
Barry - 1 -
Rooney - 1.
Defoe - 1
Heskey - 0 comes on when your 4-1 down? ..someones taking the pish!

Well Mancie I can't actually understand why Heskey was on the plane in the first place, Crouch is a better footballer, better in the air on the deck and he scores goals, Heskey don't even get 3 out of 10 for artistic impression when he does a swan dive

Re: World Cup Thread
One disallowed goal on the part of the officials is no excuse for the worst example of English football incompetence since the advent of the game. Hang your head in shame, Jaysay.

Re: World Cup Thread
Disgusted at the performance of the England players - is it the players or the management. Did we play like Premier Clubs do? If not why not? That is the style they are used to.
Perhaps an English manager with Premier League experience is what is needed. Not many to choose from as there are only about 10 or so English managers:
How about a choice from - Hodgson, Allardyce or Coppel, but I do think that Hodgson is too nice a bloke to be given the poisoned chalice.

Re: World Cup Thread
It's disappointing, and of course the Frank Lampard goal should have stood. But we were clearly second best. It's painful to have to admit that. But it happens to be the case.

Re: World Cup Thread
Once again England attempting & failing to achieve, after the indignity & humiliation of their on screen performance I'm going to have to bear the brunt of the Germans taking the pish for the next week or so ! Oh well done England

Re: World Cup Thread
Let's face it, we just didn't start to play till we were 2 nil down, then played ok for the last 10 minutes of the first half, scored a goal & put ourselves back in the game.
The goal that was disallowed was very unfortunate but I thought the unfairness of it might inspire the lads to come out fighting in the second half - how wrong could I be!
If that's the cream of English football, I'm a dutchman - roll on 7th August when I can start watching real footie again
