Re: Audi & The New Car Scrappage Scheme

Re: Audi & The New Car Scrappage Scheme
Audi have done some real advances on the new 5l V10 power unit. I know on test drive i managed a 28mpg on the M65.
Its the same engine that powers the R8 V10 model. There is an R8 V8 model which has the RS4 engine in it.
A track for Accyweb would be good plan.

Why would anyone want to go faster than 155 miles per hour - especially as the speed limit in England is 70

Well in my experience, it is usually Audi drivers that want to go faster.
Whenever your rightfully in the outside lane on the motorway & a car comes right up behind you, bullying its way through to shove you off into the left lane where there is already other cars just because your only doing +/-80mph 99% of the time it is an audi.
When you got yours did they also supply the "drive like a t$@t coat" with it?
I believe its compulsory now.

Re: Audi & The New Car Scrappage Scheme
You watch too much Top gear....
IMHE, (and speaking of someone who spends > 2 hours a day on them ) its Merc and BMW drivers who are the most inconsiderate although you can come across complete knobs in all makes and models.
why should we be allowed to own machines capable of such speeds? because there are many places to drive them that its legal, because we get our kicks from speed, because you actually become accustomed to speed so it becomes less dramatic so we look for kicks where we can.
Speed is not the issue, inconsiderate/inappropriate speed is.

There are an awful lot of drivers on the motorway who only think about themselves, are you one of those?
They stay in the outside lane when cars are approaching them from behind without even thinking they should be moving to the left after over taking. Then there are the ones who pull into the next lane without bothering to see if they will be causing someone in that lane to have to brake or avoid them.
I think the worse ones are possibly the middle lane hoggers. The one's who sit in the middle lane at 70 and never move into the left lane even when the road is clear. Decent drivers then have to move across 2 lanes and then back again just to pass them.

Re: Audi & The New Car Scrappage Scheme
I was travelling back from stafford last week and a complete idiot was doing a steady 69mph in the outside lane for about 10 miles until the POLICE moved him over.
People who drive well use there common sense, there have been times when ive touched 90 + mph to safley join a motorway where people have been travelling in the inside lane where people are trying to join the motorway. Its safer to speed past them then to brake to a halt. After all, they should move over to allow me to join. But they dont.
Moderation and common sense, not the blind following of the law will keep you safe on the road.
Ive done more than 20mph through Accrington but have seen others doing 40mph.
