Acc Camera Club

Is anyone on here in the Accy camera club?
Is it useful / informative?
What do they do at the meetings?
Is there anything to gain from it?
I am after useful tips tricks etc, not someone telling me to look through here, turn this to focus then press that button!!!
Oh, and are they digital minded now, cant be doing with that film stuff anymore!

Its not a class.. they dont teach you anything as such. But the stuff they do is a massive source of info. Fo example mostlly its sat looking at other peoples pictures but the narrator or judge will explain each aspect of the pic. whats right or wrong with it and how it could be better... I learnt loads from this approach

They do have specialist evenings such as digital where someone will do a talk on photoshop or whatever

Theres a lot of digital users now.. Garth Dawson goes and he does mostly digital now... stil plenty of film enthusiasts though... A nice balance I would say..

I like the monthly compotitions... you submit a few pics each month and a judge from another camera club comes in and marks them.. some can be quie critical.. its very informatiue and if ya get a top three then whooopeee as they say

There is something booked for every meeting.. you get to chat to other members before and after it starts and use that opportunity to ask questions..

I really should start going again now my friday night commitments have stopped

Anything else ya wanna know just ask ... but the long and short of it is.. if you want to learn how to take a good picture and pick up lots of tips then its a must... Although on some nights you might find yerself nodding off... sorry but 90 minutes about black and white landscapes....yuk..... but you know in advance whats on so can pick what meetings to go to.

Re: Acc Camera Club

Camera club is closed for a short period in summer and reopens on the 3rd September...

Primetime ...From Accy to Rishton main traffic lights where the posh car salerooms are. Turn right towards great harwood and theres a bustop shortly on your right.. turn right at the bustop and primetime is immediatly on your left.
