Jimmy McCracklin has been viewed 2000 times on Youtube. This one has been viewed 2.5 million times and rightly so. Hypnotic walking bass line. Wonderful musicians.
This is probably already on here, but always worth another listen.
Nice one, BL. I was listening to a couple of the man's albums last night. Think I may have posted "The Walk" before, but here's another of his classics.
Low quality audio, but a great performance of Carole King's song. The poor tenor sax player is blowing his heart out, but all you can hear is the alto. Someone's mic not turned on.
Had a good afternoon out on the lash with Georgie back in the seventies, ended up in the back room at the Victoria pub on Manny Road

Yeah, I like that. Sounds like they were having a party in the studio. Got to admit, the only R & B albums I have are compilations and at the time I was buying a lot of this stuff, I was buying them on cassettes (for some strange reason). They're all in cases at the bottom of my wardrobe. I'll have to dig them out sometime, see what other tracks I can dig up.
I was introduced to this (Flatfoot Sam) by the Blues Band, but delved back and liked this version better. It's not his earliest rendition, but this one has balls. Just found out from reading the Youtube comments, that the sax is played by none other than Robert Parker. Made me like it even more. I could put 'Barefootin' on next, but sure it will be one somewhere.
Ok you know it was Sting..would have played myself but the Sun had nicked my details from the Chalet I'd rented.. banged to rights with the deckchair attendent!
