Not bad Cashy, you can tell by the construction & tones that It's a 60's (late) release, whereas Mr.Kings with the background orchestration a style carried over from the late 50's into the earlier releases of similar artist in the early 60's. Either way, same great track just different appreciations.
think it was 65 dave, ive got both versions love em both, but am a big jay fan.

Is that what it takes to pull a woman round your way Dave
No not really, but Wyn said it should be about what we really want, been married for over 20 years & together even longer, so at times I'd rather just have, as the song says, a couple of pints & a bag of crisps.

jumping over from the "Hound Dog" thead think this should be included on this thread ....
"O aye , ok go on dance with your mates while I have another pint , see you in a bit " Accy Con/Burnley Mecca, circa 67 /68 ... were we such total pigs

I believe him every time I hear this one - my first love! First saw The Police at Blackburn King George's Hall in Sept. 1978, went after school with a friend and my sister - forgot to take a change of jacket and ended up wearing my stripey Paddock house blazer with jeans! Those were the days....(The original Police version of this song is much grittier but still sends a shiver down the spine!)
