Re: Chippy tea.. anyone else like/ heard it ?
Every friday when we were kids it was our treat to go to the chippy for tea. Could have anything we wanted. Didnt have fish didnt like it - steak & kidney pudding chips and peas for my mum with the peas in the bottom of the tray, dad would have steak & kidney pudding or steak pie or fish and chips, i used to have meat or meat & potato pie and chips with gravy sometimes i'd have a steak pudding and take it to bits from the top. Do you know something i just fancy a chippy tea now but the chippys not open!!!

I love that song. I heard it on Century FM.

Re: Chippy tea.. anyone else like/ heard it ?
It went quickly downhill when they changed the words to PNE and added some crap about them being the best in the land and winning 20 nil.
Now that`s cringeworthy.
I have my own version "Stick your Chippy Tea" based on the fact that 9 out of 10 chippies can`t even cook chips, instaed you get a lump of greasy PLEUH unrecognisable as food. Give me Jamie Oliver anyday.

Re: Chippy tea.. anyone else like/ heard it ?
Heh... bit of background info on th'otpots.
They're from St Helens. It's a daft side project they set up to make a bit of cash and have a laugh doing it. They usually go under the name Emmet (a live electronic/techno/dance band) and you can find their real stuff on myspace at:
http://www.myspace.com/emmetonline
I only know coz I was chatting with them briefly (about gigging with Emmet) as they first launched th'otpots project. I think in it's week of release 'Never Mind..' was in the top 10 downloaded comedy albums on iTunes music store, or so I'm told. Not bad as a money-spinner eh? Should fund their real music for a while - good on 'em.
Just bought the album for somebody last week. It's a shame, but I think one of their best tracks was their "trubute to t'bang bang thumpy dance music" - I think that's what inspired 'Lancashire DJ', but it's not on the album although it might still be on their (hotpots) myspace.
If you get chance to see them live, do so... it's a reet good do!
