Re: Concrete & Clay???

Sorry folks, I've got it....thanks anyway.

You to me
Are sweet as roses in the morning
And you to me
Are soft as summer rain at dawn, in love we share
That something rare

The sidewalks in the street
The concrete and the clay beneath my feet
Begins to crumble
But love will never die
Because we'll see the mountains tumble
Before we say goodbye

Re: Concrete & Clay???

Cheers Less.

You are quite right Wynonie it was the mid 60s, but I know it was re-released in the 70s because I bought it, but was it by unit Four + two?

Re: Concrete & Clay???

Just looked on ebay - there are a few other versions around by Yvonne Keeley and Randy Edelman, amongst others. Maybe it was one of these artists' versions that you bought, Doug?

Re: Concrete & Clay???

Quite possibly Wynonie, I did download the original last night and I found it a bit flat compared to what I remember. I also downloaded a version by Slaget 12 which is more upbeat, but it's still not the one I’m looking for.

Mental as anything, covered a version in the 80s, it might have been in the first Crocodile Dundee movie, soundtrack, Doug.

Re: Concrete & Clay???

Unit 4 + 2 is the version I remember. Sometimes if you download something for a P2P it may well not be the original recording even if it's the original artist. It's like those flippin CDs you get with the Sunday papers. They are usually some manky live version or something flat and uninspiring. Not the original version at all. I was looking forward to this Art Garfunkel double album in the Mail on Sunday but I should have known it would be disappointing. It's Garfunkel alright but not as we rememeber.
