I thought that there was some connection with Blackburn? I can remember there was a terrific sensation in the LET when their first single went into the charts. I remember because my mum was Monkee mad.

RIP. Because Davy Jones was an established pop singer, another David Jones changed his name to David Bowie. Back to Davy: I remember going into Mary's Music to buy Last Train To Clarksville and I'm A Believer, two excellent songs that have stood the test of time.

His sister Hazel lived on Cranbourne Drive where i used to live. Sad to hear the news, saw him the odd time when he came to visit and Hazel's husband and son worked with him as roadies...

Loved the Monkees -used to see them on the Banana Splits Show...

Aye cranbourne drive it was, long time ago, can remember the bird, but not the avenue, Hazel had a pic of him on the mantelpiece.
