Diana concert.

It was a bit Mummsie, which I suppose is only to be expected.

I only watched/listened to bits.

I thought Anastasia, backed by the Tabernacle Choir, singing Jesus Christ Superstar, was very good.

The ending was dire. Elton introduced a VT of Nelson Mandela, then a clip of Diana as a child on home movies, then it fizzled out. No reprieve of Elton singing Goodbye England's Rose, as reported might happen.

At least it didn't rain down there.

I watched the whole thing for 6 hours waiting for Elton to sing Goodbye England's Rose and he never did! I was well miffed.

It would have been a great finale, since he's never performed it since Diana's funeral. He should have done it, and all the day's performers should have come on carrying candles.

It was a real damp squib ending.

Ricky Gervais stole the show

Coudn't believe it when he did Freelove Freeway with 'Gareth'. Loved it.

Tiny Dancer was good from Elton John but I can't stand the podgy little ginger.

Re: Diana concert.

watched a fair bit of it, Rod Stewart should stick to studio recording he was crap live,n i think he made some good early stuff, but past live now, Tom Jones who i never liked much was very good live, Duran Duran were class live, Take That were Abysmal,Elton John was not bad at all, think he was right not to do that song at the end. cant stand the royals, but gotta give william n harry credit,to me they are the only members of that lot who DO care.

I watched it all and loved it. I thought the Andrew Lloyd Webber medley was fantastic.

Elton John was supposed to do another song (not Candle In The Wind - as he vowed after her funeral never to sing it again) but it had to be cut short because they had over run. Thats why it just ended. Will Young's set was also cut short, which i'm miffed about because I thought he was great.

I wondered about the empty seats. There seemed to be a whole block at the front with nobody in.

I don't think 'Candle in the Wind' would have been appropriate. This was a birthday celebration and that was a sad song about her death.

I loved all the video footage of her as a child. That was cute.

I think the new Queen Mum's latest hair plugs are supposed to be called Titian, rather than ginger.

I watched bits of it and thought it was good, the clips at the end of her as a baby made me cry.

I thought it was diplomatic that William and Harry said they wanted to continue the work of both their parents. They seem like nice lads.

I don't think so.
