Dirty Pretty Things

Carl Barat's new band - in my opinion much better than anything BabyShambles have done. I think Barat has brought DPT to the surface at the best time possible - with Doherty producing nothing but tabloid scandal with his pot bellied smack-head antics.
The album 'Waterloo To Anywhere' offers a grittier side to Barat, darker lyrics absent of the heroin enduced romanticism of Pete Doherty. This is how the next Libs' album SHOULD have sounded.
What does everyone else think?

yes you're right mate!!! I've no time for smackheads and I think gloryfying Doherty and his habit is appalling.
That aside DPT's music is miles better . Have you got "You F***ing love it" ? I got it on an NME freebie. it's class.

Re: Dirty Pretty Things

That's a great tune; reminiscent of Clash/Buzzcocks but definitely a recognisable Barat tune...whoever said he was the sensible one?!
If you can try getting hold of 'Deadwood' it's the first track on the album, top tune.

Re: Dirty Pretty Things

I really like the single 'Bang Bang..'. And the other stuff is more Libertines rather than anything new. I always prefered Carls vocals most of the time.

They were on Soccer AM this morning looking like they were drunk and drugged up. They admitted playing in Wolverhampton last night and not having any sleep. The one from Temple Cooper Clause spat at Tim Lovejoy. I never liked CTC. Seen them twice, walked out before the end. Really disapointed with their behaviour.

Re: Dirty Pretty Things

Drunk...very possibly. Drugged? more mr doherty's cuppa tea that these days.

Deadwood is the next single from DPT, arguably even catchier than Bang Bang...

...makes you do that.

Re: Dirty Pretty Things

I see they have covered the Paddingtons track Panic Attack. Not bad version.
