Glam Rock
Another question to spur hours of heated debate amongst Accy webbers of a certain age....who was your favourite group of the 'glam rock' era?Which group earned your loyalty at school...Slade or T.Rex?Where Roxy Music & Bowie glam or did the scene give them a career lift. The Sweet, brickies in lurex Did any one else like Gary Glitter at the time but is now too ashamed to even play the classic 'Rock & Roll pt.2'.Or for the girls, did you swear your undying love for The Bay City Rollers, the tartan clad Westlife of the early 70's.Who wore their pants at half mast.Any blokes brave enough to admit wearing glittery stuff.Or did you just like Bobby Blue Lets hear your views on this era that is sometimes best forgotten for its style but has some great schooldays disco memories for others

Re: Glam Rock
Brought up in my early life on glam rock, the ultimate king of glam rock has to be T Rex - timeless classic - get it on! LOL
Sweet - hahahha my daughter likes ballroom blitz, cant beat a bit of slade or roxy music - tho prefer them in the 80's.
Best Glam rock chic has to be the lovely Suzi Quatro
Yet i was born just after the Glam rock period in mid 70's.

Re: Glam Rock
I'll hold my hand up and admit to being completely smitten by the Bay City Rollers, Eric was my favourite . A few years ago the charity I work for organised a 70's fancy dress night, I turned up in me Rollers gear, only to find I was the only one who had taken notice of the fancy dress bit. That was embarrassing enough but then the dj made me sing Shang-A-Lang on the karaoke - while I was still sober! Worst five minutes of my life!

Gutted I wasn't around for the glam era.
T-Rex, Slade and Bowie are my favourites from that era.
All good things came to an end though as the Americans took our great invention, chewed it up & shat out bands like Poison.
Bloody awful!

an odd bit of trivia Susie Quatro is virtually unknown as a musician here in the States, she had a bit of a acting role for a while on a soppy tv show (Happy Days)as a biker chick type character , but music wise no-one has heard of her , bit like Jimi Hendrix who had to move to Europe to make his name
