How can they get away with this...

I personally think most music in the charts today that is aimed at little 14 yr old girls so they can "shake dat ass" is just pathetic. Any one heard the latest effort by Gwen safari? Utter poo. Pretty much anything by the following i think shouldnt be allowed on the radio....

Gwen safari
50 cent
Nelly futardo judging by recent efforts
Plan B
Fergie
LL Cool J
RiHanna
Shakira used to be good but now that she subscribes to the shake my t*ts to sell records i dont like

Any chance of more...

The Editors
Scissor Sisters
Coldplay
Embrace
Feeder
Muse
Kaiser Chiefs
Kasabian
Radiohead
Razorlight
REM
Snow Patrol
The Killers
The Verve
Oh and some pink floyd wouldnt go a miss.

How does it get in the charts? Are they still compiled from sales? In that case lots of 14 yr olds must be buying them. Come to think of it, they probably are!

They count downloads as well now. Hasn't chart music always been aimed at the teen market anyway ?

It's the first sign of getting old. I think anyone over 18 complains about how rubbish the music is nowadays and how it was so much better in their day

I must be old before my time then, I cannot stand 99% of new music.
The new releases I do like are usually by older artists/bands such as Morrissey, Oasis, Paul Weller, Primal Scream, U2 etc.
All these new 'indie' bands sound exactly the same to me, the same meaningless lyrics with the same awful guitar riffs.
The crap posing as "R'n'B" is embarrasing - Beyonce? Justin Timberlake?
Bloody awful. 'Sexyback' is the most talentless piece of drivel I've ever heard, ever.
I think the only decent bands around these days are Kasabian & The Strokes, since The Libertines broke up.

Don't even get me started on nu-rave...

That McFly are alright though....

They used to be. Now they are compiled by how many downloads & projected sales. This is why a new release can go straight to number 1, without actually selling any records.

Thumbs up Re: How can they get away with this...

Judging by the playlist of "acceptable" music that you have posted, Silvermain, you need to get your ass over to XFM Manchester.
I listen to it online most times when I am surfing the net.
Unfortunately they need to turn up the wick, before we can receive it in Accy by more mundane methods.
