Re: Music Quiz.

Very close Janet in fact that could have been the answer;close....what I had in mind was that "Bohemian Rhapsody" was at Number one for 9 weeks at the end of 75 and was knocked off the spot by Abba song "Mamma Mia" and coincidently both tracks had the phrase Mamma Mia in the lyrics...so Janet you get the cake and sorry Willow no Cigar for you!

Re: Music Quiz.

I think they swore which was what came as a shock. Why didn't Queen want to go on?

I don't mind missing the cigar as I don't smoke anyway.

Re: Music Quiz.

Is it something to do with Bubbles Uncle Mick? I'll have to watch the film again?

Yeh Cazeer you are right they did replace Queen, apparentlyl Freddie had to go and have emergency dental treatment. So Eric Hall who was the Google Page Ranking guy at EMI( the now football agent who says "Monster" as his catch fraze ) phoned McClaren and said the Pistols could go instead. The story goes that McClaren didn't want them to do it and Eric Hall had to persuade him to let them - he did and the rest is History.

Here is the next one Willow, the prize now is Cyber Champagne...do you drink?

Which successful 70's Soul Disco band had a hit with a song that initially had the main lyric "F**K - off!".....SERIOUSLY oh YEH!!!!...... until they changed it to something more publically digestable. The record then went onto be a classic and reach the top ten etc.

Meanwhile Seasons Greetings and a Merry Xmas to all!!!

Re: Music Quiz.

Believe it or not it was Chic and the record was "Le Freak" The guys - Rogers and Edwards were waiting outside the ultra trendy Disco Studio 54/New York and were turned away at the door.Aparently they were so" ****ed off" they went home and started jamming ( guitar and bass ) and came up with the riff for "Le Freak" but the lyric was "**** Off" in reference to the doormen who turned them away as they were so ****ed off at being turned away! They changed it latter to "Le Freak!" before being released obviously!
