Anyone see this program about Northern Soul, it was shown last week and repeated last night worth watching. It's still available on i player for a few days!

BBC iPlayer - The Culture Show: 2013/2014: Northern Soul - Keep the Faith (Signed)

One point mentioned was that the scene was fuelled by illegal drugs, mainly nicked from chemists.

What a shame, you try your best to be sickening and without any effort succeed!

I wasn't into Soul, though I had friends that were.

They spent many a night in Wigan enjoying themselves, there was no drinking and anyone using drugs, well their feet didn't touch on the way out.

Did you have a nick name at School, if so, can I guess what it was?

No, don't give me a clue.

I reckon it was Ace, as in Ace Hole!

they must have been at an under 18`s disco if they said there was no drugs.i know a lot of folk who went who all took "whatever" to last the night

Funny how you always know better than the experts - any donkey would know that there was a lot of drug use at Wigan - wake up and smell da coffee!

I didn't want to go, I was more into rock (closet soul) I knew 3 main people who went in 75 and 76 and all told me they took drugs though they didn't go together and that drug taking was majority pursuit not minority.

Much as i hate to side wi Kestrelx i never knew anyone that went to the Casino,that didn't take drugs, n i knew loads that went. some weren't big druggies or owt they took to stay awake.
