RIP Wilson Pickett

...who has died of a heart attack at the age of 64. One of the last of the old school soul singers with a voice that could strip paint. In The Midnight Hour, Mustang Sally, Land Of 1000 Dances and Funky Broadway were just some of his hits from the 60's. A mighty singer and a mighty man.

Re: RIP Wilson Pickett

A man worthy of those sentiments and more. Rest in Peace.

A couple of my favourite songs mentioned there, what a sad loss to soul music. RIP.

Very sad too young, just like Edwin & Joe Tex. He will be buried next to his mother Lena, in Louisville cemetery, on 28th Jan. He is survived by his fiance & four children.
