Nothing's ever really original. The Beetles were influenced by their American idols who in turn were influenced by county, hillbilly as well as black gospel singers. The Pistols were influenced by the underground New York scene, and bands like the Patti Smith Group and the New York Dolls.
The BeAtles, maybe??

I'm a pillock? I'm not the one trying to immitate Cliff Richard am I you prune.
The only thing worse than being Cliff Richard is actually wanting to be him....you disgust me.
And don't bother using ageism to determine my musical knowledge - i can tell you that i know a lot more about what is important in music - like NOT to immitate has been 50's pin-ups.
you tool.

...and anyone using the word 'somewhat' twice in one post needs their head seeing to.

And you prove my point! You weren't around when he was in his heyday (actually neither was I but at least I can remember the tail end of it). He was the British Elvis Presley - and when any one act that is around today manages to have a hit in the next five decades I will concede to your musical knowledge.

PS - on this site, it's rude to pick up on other people's spelling mistakes!

Re: Rock n Roll kings

this is rich - you're going on about how brilliant Cliff Richard was in his heyday yet you weren't around for it?! haha
You prove my point - the British Elvis Presley? CLIFF RICHARD WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE AN ELVIS WANNABE

Re: Rock n Roll kings

Ok Woody, so you want to impact on the web as much as you want to impact on the music scene. It takes style, opportunity and class to be a Rebel and you are no where near I afraid. No I didn’t imitated Richards I knew is songs and sung them in my own voice, perhaps like you do today with the people you enjoy listing to and your taste in music... In the post I made earlier I pointed out what I saw as your inaptitude in respect of your interpretation of a music scene you know little of through experience and credited you with making a valiant attempt at gaining the opinion of others. The pillock remark was for the comments you made in respect of another poster. Unfortunately you have only succeeded in changing my opinion of you from a nice lad who wanted to be one of the gang and make his mark, to just another disrespectful juvenile idiot... You don’t learn about music Woody, you live it.

It's all right Doug, I don't think we should get too stressed about this new comer - after all he's named himself after one of the Bay City Rollers!

Re: Rock n Roll kings

what makes you think you know everything there is to know about music and the web?
i dont have to prove anything to you but here goes...
all i wanted to do was to get a little bit of opinion about real music in this forum where all there seems to be is a load of waffling on about power ballads.
it got out of hand, i admit that.
i care about music more than anytihng, it's my life - so in response to your earlier comments - i most certainly do not want to be labelled either a 'rebel' or 'one of the lads', im just me - i just care about music ad have strong opinions about the particular music i love.

and i most certainly do LIVE music.

I don't want to get into a fight with you. I think your love of music is fantastic. Let's calm down and make friends.

We all live and learn Woody..............

"Although I laugh and I act like a clown
Beneath this mask I am wearing a frown
My tears are falling like rain from the sky
Is it for her or myself that I cry"
