Songs That Let You Down
Ever watched a song that you thought was great accompanied with a spot on video, then heard the song without video & thought it was'nt so good after all?Or maybe great video that sold a crap song?Or great song, crap video.Best one (off the top of my head & not some arty video more of a tour documentary kind of thing)that impressed was Bowies 'The Jean Genie',maybe because The Spiders From Mars were in it.Also The Verves Bitter Sweet Symphony.Cheap(though maybe not cheerful).Glasvegas, great song, video probarbly cost a tenner to make.Kylie,as much as i love her,new song average....video cost a bomb.

Never watch music channels or pay any attention to videos so it ain't a problem

Will never argue with that Shaker, top song that can stand out without a video, but i thought the video to it was ace,Mad Richard walking down a street of all things.Maybe why they chose to make, basically a home video to go with it as the song is good enough to stand up on its own.Why spend several grand on a video when you know the song is that good you don't really need one.MTVgeneration i suppose

Also, if the bass needs to be turned up full to drown out the lyrics, that's another sign.

Re: Songs That Let You Down
Proper gutted.
Just thought of one song where the video is brilliant should be viewed on mute: Fatboy Slim - Weapon of Choice.
Also any Girls Aloud/Sugababes video. For other reasons.
