The Blues

For any blues fans with Sky Arts (great channel) there's a programme on now which I thought I'd recommend. It's part of a series with different directors exploring the blues through their own styles. This programme sees Martin Scorcese presenting the delta blues.

So far, so good.

Re: The Blues

Sounded good, Shakey, but sadly I don't have Sky Arts. Still, thanks for the tip off.

Re: The Blues

It was ok.

The programme was very centred around the roots of the delta blues, visiting Mali and the origins of the rhythms.

I'd rather they talk about Robert Johnson for an hour!

Re: The Blues

There are quite a few good blues programmes on the BBC I Player at the moment. It's not from Sky Arts of course, but mainly from BBC4.

Re: The Blues

Possibly it was part of this, The Blues | PBS ? Like the Willie Dixon quote, btw.

Here's a few of Ali Farka Toure's thoughts, they seem to fit this thread
