I did see the Drifters at the Cav and after thier set they came to the bar.. they were an instant hit with the ladies..but some Blackburn lads got the hump and started throwing punches at the band members.. calling them "black" this and that... all very embarrassing.

No Mancie not mixing them up with the Drifters, think they were there a couple of times I was working there when they appeared in the mid 70s, think the only one I remembered from the old Drifters (although he wasn't a founder member) was the late Johnnie Moor, I know that with touring Britain they ignited more interest and had quite a few hits in the 70s, nearly sure I have an old album of the Drifters biggest hits, with Johnie Moor
