The Stylistics

Happy memories. Saw them on the telly yesterday. Apparently they will be playing Bolton on Nov 21st (a sunday). I wonder if any local coach firms are doing a trip?

Re: The Stylistics

The Stylistics? Do you think so? I used to "live" up there Alan, andn I honestly dont remember them being there. Still, I will be seeing them soon, so it might "jog" my memory.
I remember seeing The O'Jays fairly often up there. What a fantastic place it was. "well before its time".

I worked at the Cav Atarah, but after the fire, remember seeing the O'Jays and the Detroit Emeralds, can't remember the Stylistics though, was just wondering when they came to prominence over here.

From early 70's mate - the lead singer had the highest pitched voice out of all those bands - his voice was falsetto and the hits were mainly romantic songs.

I do actually know who and what their music was and is like, they have to be romantic songs when they're sung in falsetto

Not nessarily, "Staying Alive" is sung in falsetto and that's not a love song! Though it's not the same group, it shows that high-pitched voices can sing other than romantic songs!

I don't remember the Stylistics being at the Cav either.. not getting mixed up with the Drifters are we?
I did see the Drifters at the Cav and after thier set they came to the bar.. they were an instant hit with the ladies..but some Blackburn lads got the hump and started throwing punches at the band members.. calling them "black" this and that... all very embarrassing.
