Will have to disagree with you on that one, Mr C. "After School Session", "One Dozen Berries", "St Louis to Liverpool", "Two Great Guitars" and many, many more of the great man's albums all beat the "Fab Four's" LPs by a country mile (especially that hugely overrated pile of pretentious junk, "Sergeant Pepper"). As for the yanks, it wasn't the ones who burned their lousy albums who were insane...it was the ones who went ga ga when the moptopped ones appeared on their shores, peddling third rate regurgitated versions of their own musical heritage. Listen to their version of "Long Tall Sally", then listen to Little Richard's original. Talk about sending boys to do a man's job!

we could possibly be on differant wavelengths here wyn, i was refering albeit not very clearly of albums produced in the years of the beatles career.

Well, "St Louis to Liverpool" was, I believe, '65 (hence, the cash-in title) but I take your point that by the mid/late '60's his great days in the studio were well and truly behind him. But I'm sure you'll agree with me that, record for record from any era of his, or their career, he could blow 'em out of the water!

Re: Vote for your fave Beatles album
I dont like any album as a whole but rather a collection of songs... not too into the 'we took lots of LSD and so we are writing about it' songs

Chuck Berry has some great songs to his credit, but I hope you're not including 'My Ding-a-Ling' in that record for record comparison ,WH (72 - slightly post Beatles). Can't think of anything that the late era Beatles put out that was worse than that irritating abomination. 'All you need is love' perhaps but even that don't come close
