Which ones pink

Pink floyd 3 front men barret, waters, gilmour which was the best, i cant decide they all had flashes of genius i think maybe it was waters because dark side and the wall are both timeless and will still stand up in 20 yrs but gilmours a legend also anyone got any opinions

I am a Floyd fan too - recently watched the several hours coverage on BBC 4.
I prefer Gilmour - Waters has ego problems

He might be a moody ******, but The Roger Waters era, with the exception of The Final Cut, was Floyds finest hour.

Anyone who has seen Rogers recent Wall tour will agree.
Simply magnificent!

Music made to last forever I suppose. "Dark Side of the Moon" is timeless and it's not that removed from reality - it deals with some pretty basic issues of life - greed, mental illness! Contrary to what was said around 1976 by certain people! Some of their early LP tracks have a "punk" thrash about them! Oh yeeeeeeeh!

All bands have ego problems. I heard an interview with Depeche Mode when they got their first chart hit they used to argue about which one of them was the one who's looks/charisma/talent etc was responsible for the success! Hendrix bass guitar player Noel Redding left for same reasons. The pattern goes on in many bands/artists.

"Child in Time" was by Deep Purple, Jaysay, and is my fave of theirs. Saw them in Manchester a couple of years back but they didn't play it!! It has some real high singing in it and my theory is that Ian Gillan can't hit the notes anymore!!

Re: Which ones pink

Thanks Margaret, it is quite good, it's on the DVD Dark Side of the Moon, Quad version as mixed by Alan Parsons, sounds different than the other versions, but not available to buy, a engineer made it available on the net.

I was always a fan of Pink Floyd. I still listen to their stuff and while some stuff from that era sounds dated.......I can listen to them for hours and their music still sounds fresh.

Re: Which ones pink

On Monday Pink Floyd re-released all their LP's - including so I believe 2 versions of "Dark Side of the Moon." A clever marketing ploy to make a shed load of money.

They flew a Pink Pig at Battersea Power Station here is a photo I took...

Did you hear this LP from the 80's featuring Richard Wright "Identity" under the name Zee - with Dave Harris who was in Fashion before.
