Crewe Alexandra
v
Accrington Stanley
So - we lost the chance to play them with their two centre backs suspended for those red cards; so did Port Vale, and the opportunity fell to Burton
, who promptly blew it, losing 3-2 to a Luke Murphy winner three minutes from time
. Since we should have played at the beginning of the month, Crewe have taken the three points from Burton and lost at Southend by the odd goal in one; we've lost at Rotherham, and played again last Saturday, but we don't discuss that ...............
Crewe were looking to make defensive cover signings; in the event, they only made the one, picking up James Tunnicliffe (23 - ex Stockport and Brighton) from Wycombe (where he hasn't featured since the Chairboys 6-0 home thrashing by the (surprisingly managerless) Huddersfield
). Question (from a Mr L Clark of Huddersfield); what do you have to do
NOT to be sacked these days?
Their current League record is now 13 wins, 3 draws and 14 defeats, leaving them in 12th place on 42 points, with a goals difference of -3 (40 for, 43 against). At home they're on 6 wins, 2 draws and 6 losses. We're still, somehow, 10th on 43 points, with a goal difference in freefall .............
(1) We haven't scored in our last 2 1/2 games - 3 hours 45 mins (2) we didn't look like scoring on Saturday (some thought we were lucky to finish with nil) and (3) we can't (surely) play that badly again. Can we?
Guesses already recorded will count if you want to leave them; if you want to change your mind, just add your new guess below. If you didn't play earlier, now's your chance ...........
