Re: 2013 Prediction League; Game 21 v Mansfield Town (away)
Oh What A Beautiful Evening
Well the final whistles are sounding all around the country and I’m watching Final Score waiting for the teleprinter to confirm our third defeat in a row , and cursing the fact that our result is always one of the last, keeping false hopes alive . Then 90+4 - fudge me we’ve equalised – nothing stupid now lads, and by the way I’m on for 5 points in the prediction league – 90+5 - fudge me sideways we’re winning and who cares about prediction league points! And I swear it was 5 more minutes before FT came up and I dared tell Mrs Chimer who was busy dressing a Christmas tree in the next room . Enough abut me ……
We were mostly confident little predictors this week, encouraged I suppose by the fightback against the Grecians seven days ago. 25 went for the win, 9 for the draw and only 5 forecasting doom. 4 of those 5 were in our Top Ten , reflecting that usually realism triumphs over cock-eyed optimism – but not today! No 5 pointers though, 4 for AccyMad, Div3North, Redash and Stevie R being the best returns for the day, all going for 3-1. A few bonus points for drawmongers and realists who predicted us letting in two. All of which means ….
The returning AngeB and Teach are now absolutely equal on top, 3 points clear of PMIG who continues to rely on his defaults and isn’t posting on other threads - is he still with us anyone? UK Cowboy (also defaulting) moves from 9th to 6th, AccyBeMe has climbed over Valairian and Bdc over Sherry, Mab, Sparkie and Deeayess (with identical records) are up from joint 11th to joint 9th at the expense of Kiwi John and Fotball19 who lose their Top Ten placings.
Roll on York on Boxing Day. C’mon boys – give us a break, have yourselves a KitKat!
On Stanley On!
