hope to end on a high to give us something to remember on the long boring summer months. 4-2 to Stanley and hopefully Grimsby promoted

Re: 2014/15 Prediction League - Game 46 v Mansfield Town (home)

They're Good, And They Know They Are ..........

Just to rub it in, the Top 5 in the Prediction League all took maximums to ensure the season ended with absolutely no change at the top of the table, leaving AngeB 23 points clear with a record-breaking 118 points , coming from 27 correct results including 9 spot-ons. Nige B and Teach took the other podium places with Deeayess and Football19 4th and 5th. There were lots of other maximums this week which did produce some changes - Mab and Alvin the Chipmunk pushed up from 12= to 10=, Mike A from 16th to 14th, Leylandii from 18th to 15th, Stevie from 23rd to 20th and Andy D from his long-held 41st and last place in the top section of the table to 39th.

We did expect a win to round off the season, only Dav007 (by default) and Yerself (rarely optimistic ) expecting a loss while CmonStanley, LongLostSon, Norwich Stanley and OssyKid took places on the fence (and must therefore stay there all summer ). That left 32 of us celebrating at least 3 points on the final day .

Ange's 9 spot-ons were closely challenged by Bdc with 8, but he only had 7 others right (against 18). Best average per game goes to MadKev (P1, W0, D1, L0, Pts 3) thus averaging 3.0. Ange was only 2nd in this reckoning with 2.57, followed by Teach (2.12), Nige (2.07) and F19 (2.0) amongst the regulars, with Exile on Spencer St managing 2.23 over 13 games and StanleyAccrington 2.20 over 10. No-one else made 2.0 or better.

Very honourable mentions to those who managed 46 entries without taking out the insurance of defaults; only Accymad and both Bs (though it may well be that others never used their default - that would take just a bit too long to check ). Also to two invaders from other clubs - ncfc1 from Newport and Morecambe Red (who will never get more than a BP if he insists on forecasting Shrimps wins ).

I am publishing the full table this time in two parts, the break coming so those who have played 10 times or more (41 of us) are in the first section. Of those in the second section, only MonkeyHanger is currently a regular player - his 5 entries having been made for the last 5 games. 35 others definitely count as regulars, making over 30 entries over the season.

So roll on whoever's first up in August, to play whoever's still here. Will it be a summer when a galactico chooses to play for Stanley and pay everybody else's wages? Probably not ..... anyroad, thanks for playing this season, hopefully you lot will be back in force in the Autumn anyway. Can the Bs' dominance be challenged in 2015/16? Probably not ......
